Sicarius gracilis – Six-eyed Sand Spider
Origin: Southern Africa (Namibia, South Africa).
Size: Body length ~1–2 inches; leg span ~3–4 inches.
Lifespan: Estimated 8–12 years in captivity (females longer, males shorter).
Lifestyle: Fossorial ambush predator.
Buries itself in sand, waiting for prey.
Appearance: Flat, sand-colored body for desert camouflage.
Six eyes in three pairs (instead of eight).
Temperament: Extremely reclusive, prefers hiding.
Rarely seen above sand.
Venom is necrotic and medically significant.

Care & Habitat:
Desert-dwelling species adapted to arid conditions.
Requires hot, dry environment with sandy substrate.

Wide and shallow tank/container.
