Size: 4–5 inches (10–13 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females 10–12 years, males 3–4 years.
Lifestyle: Terrestrial and opportunistic burrower; often webs heavily around its retreat.
Appearance: Dark body with striking orange and black tiger-like striping on the abdomen, contrasted by lighter-colored legs.
Temperament: Generally skittish but not overly aggressive. May be defensive when disturbed but usually prefers to retreat.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Terrestrial setup with floor space, a hide, and 4–5 inches of substrate for digging.
Substrate: Coconut fiber, topsoil, or a soil mix that holds moderate humidity.
Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C).
Humidity: 65–75%, with a shallow water dish and occasional misting.
Diet: Crickets, roaches, and mealworms weekly; juveniles more often.
