Origin: Southern Africa.
Size: 5–6 inches (12–15 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females - 10 to 12 years / Males - 2 to 3 years
Lifestyle:Terrestrial and fossorial, spending most of its time in burrows.
Appearance: Reddish-peach coloration with a velvet-like texture and a stocky build.
Temperament: Skittish and defensive; not recommended for handling, best enjoyed as a display species.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Terrestrial setup with floor space, a hide, and 4–5 inches of compact substrate for burrowing.
Substrate: Coconut fiber, topsoil, or a soil mix that holds moisture but supports tunnels.
Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C).
Humidity: 65–75%, maintained with a water dish and occasional misting.
Diet: Crickets, roaches, or mealworms weekly; juveniles more often.
