Origin: Venezuela, South America.
Size: 5–6 inches (12–15 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females 10–12 years, males 3–4 years.
Lifestyle: Arboreal, creating silken retreats in tree hollows and elevated spaces.
Appearance: Jet-black body with bright orange tiger-like markings on the legs and abdomen, giving it a bold and fiery look.
Temperament: Fast, defensive, and not suitable for handling. Known to bolt quickly when disturbed.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Arboreal setup with tall space, cork bark tubes, and climbing structures. Provide excellent cross ventilation for airflow.
Substrate: Coconut fiber or soil mix to retain moderate humidity.
Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C).
Humidity: 70–75%, with a shallow water dish and light misting.
Diet: Crickets, roaches, and other insects weekly; juveniles more often.
