Origin: Trinidad, Caribbean.
Size: 5–6.5 inches (13–16 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females 12–14 years, males 3–4 years.
Lifestyle: Arboreal, creating silken retreats in tree hollows and elevated spaces.
Appearance: Olive green to gray body with darker chevron markings on the abdomen and legs; spiderlings are vibrant orange, fading as they mature.
Temperament: Fast, defensive, and prone to threat displays. Not suitable for handling, but highly fascinating as a display species.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Arboreal setup with tall space, cork bark tubes, and climbing structures. Provide excellent cross ventilation for airflow.
Substrate: Coconut fiber or soil mix to maintain moderate humidity.
Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C).
Humidity: 70–75%, with a water dish and occasional misting.
Diet: Crickets, roaches, and other feeder insects weekly; juveniles more often.
