Origin: India, primarily in the southern regions.
Size: 7–8 inches (18–20 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females 12–15 years, males 3–4 years.
Lifestyle: Arboreal, living in tree holes and creating silken retreats.
Appearance: Elegant grayish body with bold black-and-white markings, banded legs, and a distinctive yellow underside on the front legs.
Temperament: Fast, defensive, and capable of delivering a strong bite. Not recommended for beginners or handling.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Tall arboreal setup with cork bark tubes, vertical hides, and climbing structures. Provide excellent cross ventilation.
Substrate: Coconut fiber or soil mix to hold moderate humidity.
Temperature: 74–82°F (23–28°C).
Humidity: 70–80%, with a water dish and occasional misting.
Diet: Crickets, roaches, and other feeder insects weekly; juveniles more often.
