Appearance: Dark brown to black body with striking reddish-orange legs and abdomen hairs. Thick, heavy-bodied species with a powerful look.
Temperament & Behavior: Can be skittish and defensive.
Known for a unique threat display where it spins in circles and kicks with its back legs.
Uses urticating hairs as a primary defense
Care in Captivity:
Enclosure: Spacious terrestrial setup with deep substrate (6+ in.) for burrowing and a hide.
Substrate: Moist, well-packed (coco fiber, soil mix).
Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)
Humidity: 75–85%, with good ventilation to prevent mold.
Diet: Large insects (crickets, roaches), occasional locusts or mealworms.
