Origin: Tanzania, East Africa.
Size: 5–6 inches (12–15 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females 12–15 years, males 3–4 years.
Lifestyle: Arboreal and semi-fossorial; will climb and web heavily but also dig burrows at the base of its retreat.
Appearance: Olive-green to golden carapace with a darker abdomen and contrasting black legs. A unique one-of-a-kind species as it is the only member of its genus.
Temperament: Fast, defensive, and reclusive. Not suitable for handling but highly sought after for its rarity and unique appearance.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Semi-arboreal setup with vertical space, cork bark, and room for both climbing and burrowing. Provide excellent cross ventilation.
Substrate: Coconut fiber or soil mix that holds humidity and allows digging.
Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C).
Humidity: 70–80%, with a shallow water dish and occasional misting.
Diet: Crickets, roaches, and other feeder insects weekly; juveniles more often.
