Origin: Mexico — particularly Guerrero and surrounding regions.
Size: 5–6 inches (13–15 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females 20–25 years, males 5–7 years.
Lifestyle: Terrestrial and opportunistic burrower; often creates shallow burrows or uses natural hides.
Appearance: A striking tarantula with a jet-black body, deep red hairs on the abdomen, and a contrasting golden-blonde carapace. This bold color combination makes it highly sought after in the hobby.
Temperament: Generally calm and docile, though may flick urticating hairs if disturbed. A good beginner-friendly tarantula.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Terrestrial setup with floor space, a hide, and 4–5 inches of substrate for burrowing.
Substrate: Coconut fiber, topsoil, or soil mix kept mostly dry with a slightly moist area.

Humidity: 60–70%, with a shallow water dish; avoid keeping overly damp.
