Chilobrachys natanicharum (Electric Blue Tarantula)
Origin: Thailand.
Size: 5–6 inches (12–15 cm) leg span.
Lifespan: Females 12–15 years, males 3–4 years.
Lifestyle: Fossorial but opportunistic; creates deep burrows and heavy web tunnels.
Appearance: One of the most striking tarantulas in the hobby, displaying vibrant metallic blue coloration on its legs and carapace under proper lighting, contrasted with a darker body.
Temperament: Defensive and fast. Will readily retreat into its burrow but can show threat postures if provoked. Not recommended for handling.
Care & Habitat:
Enclosure: Fossorial setup with 6–8 inches of compact substrate for burrowing and items (cork bark, rocks, branches) for heavy webbing.
Substrate: Moisture-retentive soil or coconut fiber mix.
Temperature: 74–82°F (23–28°C).
Humidity: 65–75%, with a water dish and occasional light misting.
Diet: Crickets, roaches, and other feeder insects weekly; juveniles more often.
